Website That Shows Compatibility Lists? Building Computer?

Filed under: building lists — admin @ 10:41 am

I’m building a computer and have a case now i think that power supplys, motherboards, cpu’s, heat sink/fans, ram, hard disk drives, and video adaptor cards all need to be compatible to one another. If thats true, then is there a website or ANYTHING that i can do to to find if parts are compatible?

nope. you have to do it the long way and google if things are compatible with one another or use Yahoo! Answers and ask if things are compatible. it sucks but if it were easy why would people buy computers at bestbuy for double what they could build it for?

When looking at cpu’s (processor) the common socket size for an intel cpu is LGA 775 (this would include Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Pentium) so find a motherboard that has that exact socket. The intel core i7 (the best CPU on the market is a 1366 socket). Then once you’ve found a motherboard you need to look at the RAM specifications (see if it is DDR, DDR2, or DDR3 and what speed the mobo can run the ram ie, 800mhz-1200mhz) then buy your ram accordingly. its all checks and balances. if you have anymore questions feel free to email me.

Hello there,

Here are some links. In these the builder cannibalized two guitars to make a double neck.

Here is an article discussing the process
