Complete build list for a computer that has these requirements?

Filed under: build a list — admin @ 7:57 pm

CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better
RAM: 1G for XP; 2G for Vista
Hard Drive: 8GB of free space
Video card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better

Give me all parts except a case, I got that covered.

My budget is $500, please try to keep it as far from this as possible. Only go near it if you absolutely have to.
Please include a monitor. 20 inch or more.
Also, I mean MEETS these requirements.

sniper kinda forgot something…
The motherboard.
Otherwise, he’s pretty much laid it out.
Make sure that you select a socket AM3 motherboard that supports DDR3 RAM, since they aren’t too hard to find with what would be left of your budget. Select your processor and RAM accordingly.

  2. 1) all the new motherboard are integrated, so no need of video card or sound card
    2) HD 8GB…I do not believe they make them any longer, you can buy a 160GB for $60 to $80

If you live in Los Angeles, e-mail me, I can give you name and address of a shop, that will build it for you (under $500) and excellent quality
(I got 5 computers from them, never had a major problem)

  5. http://www.craigslist.org you can easily find those parts locally. Don’t buy them shipped unless you’re buying from newegg.com or ebay. Go with AMD. You can build a nice computer for $500, watch a few videos on youtube and build it yourself.
