Where can I find checklist of items I’ll have to choose when building a new home (siding, countertops, etc.) ?
I’m looking for a detailed (free) checklist of items I’ll need to choose when building a new home. Something that would list all the things I’ll need to make personal choices on; appliances, countertops, siding, roofing, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, windows, paving driveway, etc.
Even better if I can find a (free) list of the whole step-by-step process of home building. Something that lists things I might not think of like checking with the city about sewer or power hookups in a home in the country.
Thanks very much for any help you might be able to provide. It will be much appreciated.
Each builder will have a different selection process and the forms that go along. For a comprehensive guide to the home building process from a consumers point of view, try this website:

The link below is exactly what you’re looking for. But it’s in pdf format, so you’ll need Adobe Acrobat reader to access it. You can go to the second link to download the free version, and print it out on your computer. Have fun! Wish I was building my own home!
