Is there software comparable to Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4, with the following specific features?

The Adaptec software had two features which seem hard to find anymore, especially together. First, in building a list of mp3s to burn to disc, there was an embedded explorer window which could be navigated by typing the beginning of file names, just like in Windows Explorer, and which would add a highlighted file to the burn list with a simple keystroke (<ctrl> T, I believe). It was much more efficient than drag-and-drop. Second, once an item was in the burn list, you could edit its name so that the filename which appeared on the burn disc was different than the original filename on the hard drive.

Nothing I’ve found since includes those two features, and if anything available offers them it is not apparent from the available online literature.

Thank you in advance for any good suggestions!

  2. Roxio bought Adaptec, or somesuch sort of merger/acquisition nonsense, where essentially what you wanted from Adaptec is now Roxio.

Just get the newest Roxio software version, and I’m sure they have all the old features that Adaptec used to, plus obviosu technological advancements, DVD burning, etc….
